Tata Motors has announced attractive discounts and benefits across its EV portfolio. Savings of up to 3 lakh rupees can now be had on Nexon.EV while 1.20 lakh has been shaved off the Punch.EV’s price. Valid till October 31st, these revisions have made these EVs even more desirable. Tata Motors currently has around 68% market share in the EV segment.
The Tiago.ev, Punch.ev and Nexon.ev are in high demand. Discounts, the biggest yet, are available on these. It is important to note that these used to rarely get discounts due to high demands. The revision, primarily targeting the upcoming festive season, has brought the EV prices closer to those of their ICE counterparts.
Tata recently launched the Curvv.ev as well (No discounts are available on it). The electric coupe was priced so that select variants of it were priced on par with some of the Nexon.EV, leaving minimal price gaps in between. The revision has generated more room between these EVs. This could minimize potential cannibalization in the future.
Tiago.EV Discounts
The entry price of Tiago.EV remains the same. The electric hatchback continues to start at 7.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The higher variants offer discounts of up to 40,000. The EV gets a 19.2 kWh battery pack and offers a range of up to 221 km/charge. The top-spec, now priced at 10.99 lakh (ex-sh), comes with a 7.2 kW AC fast charger.
Punch.EV Discounts
The Punch.EV was previously priced between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 14.99 lakh. It gets cuts of up to 1.20 lakh. The ex-showroom prices are now 9.99 – 13.79 lakh. The base variant gets a 1 lakh price drop and the top-spec 1.2 lakh. The small electric SUV is available with two battery packs – 25kWh (claimed range of 315 km) and 35kWh (claimed range of 421km).
Nexon.EV Discounts
The Nexon EV gets the biggest discounts this time. Up to 3 lakh can be saved on the top-spec Nexon.EV variants. The popular electric SUV had its price in the range of 14.49 -19.29 lakh. Post revision, the prices begin at 12.49 lakh. The base variant is now more affordable by 2 lakh, while the top-spec has become cheaper by 3 lakh. With the new prices in place, the electric and ICE versions of Nexon stand closer to each other.
Dealerships will not offer any additional discounts or benefits on these electric vehicles. Earlier, price cuts of around 2 lakh were announced on the EVs. However, under the ‘Festival of Cars’ program , these benefits are clubbed with the new ones. Also interesting to note is that the Tigor EV does not get any price cuts.
Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “Our singular purpose at TATA.ev is to mainstream EVs, by breaking barriers and making EVs more accessible to regular car buyers. With these special, limited period prices, we are breaking the high acquisition cost barrier for EVs, and bringing EV prices closer to similar petrol and/or diesel-powered vehicles. Customers will additionally benefit immensely from the complimentary public charging offering at Tata Power chargers. Free Charging For Tata.EV Models
As part of ‘Festival Of Cars’, Tata Motors is also offering six months of free charging at all of the 5,500+ Tata Power charging stations, adding more value to EV ownership this festive season.
The new price cuts come as part of the ‘Festival of Cars’ program. Previously, the program announced jaw-dropping discounts on the ICE range. Available on the Tiago, Tigor, Nexon, Altroz, Harrier and Safari, these cuts are the biggest yet from Tata Motors. The Safari’s price is now down by 1.80 lakh!
