Tata Motors To Launch 2 New Cars In The Next 2 Months: Details

Tata Motors is set to revamp its domestic portfolio. In the next two months, we are expecting two new Tata models to launch in the country. This includes a petrol/diesel vehicle and an electric vehicle (EV), and will help Tata Motors attain a stronger footprint in the domestic market. The first of the two launches planned is the Tata Harrier.EV. The second is the facelifted (heavily reworked) version of the Altroz hatchback.
Tata Motors is expected to launch the Altroz facelift as early as May. First introduced in 2019, the Altroz was Tata’s first model built on the Alfa Arc platform and is now due for a mid-life update.
Spy shots of the facelifted Altroz reveal several cosmetic changes. The front bumper will receive a sharper, more aggressive restyling, while new five-spoke alloy wheels will also make the car stand out. Tata Motors appears to have switched the rear combination lamps to LED units, and it’s likely that the headlamps will also adopt LEDs, keeping in line with rivals like the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20.
Inside, the carmaker is expected to update the upholstery and trims to create a more premium feel. Features like ventilated seats may also be offered. The new Altroz will continue with the existing engine and transmission options.
Expected launch: May 21st, 2025
The Harrier.EV will be Tata's answer to the likes of Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e. It made its official premiere at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo this year. Test mule sightings have been common ever since.
The production-spec Harrier.EV closely follows the design language showcased at the Expo. The front end gets a closed-off grille with faint horizontal slats, a redesigned bumper, sharp LED DRLs, and vertically stacked LED headlamps. The lower grille gets vertical slats.
The side profile closely resembles that of the regular Harrier. The EV, however, gets a set of new 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 245-section tyres. The rear gets refreshed LED tail lamps, a shark fin antenna and a faux silver skid plate on the rear bumper.
Tata Motors is expected to kit the Harrier.EV well. A long list of features is expected. The likes of ventilated front and rear seats, power-adjustable front seats with memory function, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a panoramic sunroof could be found on the electric SUV. In addition to these, Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, blind spot assist, and seven airbags will also be present.
Exact specifications are yet to be revealed, but the Harrier.ev will likely come with a 75–80 kWh battery pack. Tata is targeting a driving range of around 500 km on a full charge, which would place the Harrier.ev among the longest-range EVs in India.
Built on Tata’s new Acti.EV platform, it will offer the choice of rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). Higher variants are expected to feature a dual-motor setup delivering around 268 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque. Tata will also debut a new EV-specific Terrain Response system in the Harrier.ev.
The Harrier.ev is expected to hit showrooms in the coming months. Pricing is expected to be in the ₹28–35 lakh (ex-showroom) range.
Expected launch: June, 2025
