Tata Sierra EV And Turbo Petrol: Launch Timelines Revealed

For all the lovers of the iconic Tata Sierra SUV, the year 2025 will be a big one. We say this because Tata Motors has now confirmed the launch timelines for its iconic SUV, Sierra, which will now become a lot more modern. What is even more special is that the company will launch the electric as well as the ICE version of this legendary SUV.

Tata Motors Confirms Launch Timelines of Sierra EV and ICE

Let’s start with the model which will be coming first, and for those who guessed it is the EV version, you are absolutely correct. The company will launch the Sierra EV first in the first half of next year. It is believed that we could see a final production version of the Sierra EV at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo.

The upcoming Sierra EV will be based on the brand’s Acti.ev Gen 2 electric platform. As per reports, the company will not only be offering it in the front-wheel-drive configuration, but there will also be an AWD variant. Battery pack options will range between 60-80 kWh, with a 500 km range on a single full charge.

Tata Sierra ICE Details

As for the ICE variant of the Sierra, it will be based on Tata’s newest ATLAS platform. This new platform will also support front-wheel-drive configuration as well as AWD configuration. In terms of the powertrain, the Sierra ICE will be offered with two engine options.

The first will be the brand’s new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, which will make around 168 bhp and 268 Nm of torque. On the other hand, there will also be a 2.0-litre diesel engine from the Harrier and Safari, which are currently on sale. This motor will produce around 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque.

Coming to the all-important launch timeline of the Sierra ICE, it has been reported that it will be launched in the second half of 2025. Both the Sierra EV and Sierra ICE will be priced above Rs 20 lakh.

2025 Tata Sierra: Design Details

In terms of design, Tata has not only taken the name Sierra but has also taken design inspiration from the original SUV as well. It will boast the classic large rear window and tall stance, but it has been modernized to look like something from the future.

Originally, the first concept of the Tata Sierra was shown with a three-door layout. However, Tata soon realized that it wouldn’t be very practical, which would hurt sales. So the company will now be offering the Sierra with five doors. However, the company has cleverly hidden the middle portion of the vehicle with large windows and blacked-out C and D pillars.

Other design highlights of the Tata Sierra include full-width LED DRLs, LED headlights, gloss black trims, and large 19-inch wheels with aero blade styling. Overall, the Sierra will offer a very rugged yet futuristic design that will stand out in the crowd.

Moving on to the interior, the upcoming Sierra ICE and EV will both feature a very clean and minimalistic design. The dashboard will be dominated by dual 10.25-inch screens. The one on the left will be the touchscreen infotainment system, and the one on the right will be the digital instrument gauge cluster.

It will also get touch-based HVAC controls, a panoramic glass roof, ventilated and powered seats, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ADAS Level 2, and a ton of other features.
