The Glanza, or the Toyota iteration of the Maruti Baleno offers a range of trims and variants. The special edition is available across these. It brings about notable cosmetic changes over the standard model through a series of Toyota Genuine accessories. The exterior gets door visors, lower grille garnish, ORVM garnish, rear lamp garnish, front bumper garnish, fender garnish and bumper corner protector. The cabin comes with new 3D floormats.
There are no mechanical changes. The car continues with its 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 89 bhp and 113 Nm. Both manual and AMT transmissions are offered. There is even a CNG powertrain available. However, it is just the petrol that qualifies for the cash discounts.
Toyota Taisor
The Taisor, a rebadged Fronx, is available in three trims- E, S and S+. The special edition adds new garnishes on the headlamps, front grille, and the corner of the rear bumper. The package also includes a body cover, illuminated door sill guard, roof spoiler extender and more. Many of these are finished in Gloss Black and Red. The special edition also gets all-weather 3D mats and a 3D boot mat.
The crossover offers the choice of a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol, 1.2L NA petrol and 1.2L CNG powertrain. The turbo engine is capable of producing 99 hp and 148 Nm. The 1.2L NA petrol produces 89 hp and 113 Nm, like in the Glanza. The CNG powertrain has an output of 76hp and 99 Nm. Both AMT automatic and manual gearboxes are available on the NA petrol versions.
Urban Cruiser Hyryder
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is a popular pick among buyers. It is available in both mild hybrid and strong hybrid iterations. The special edition is available on all trims except the entry-level E. On the strong hybrid, the special edition is available on the G and V trims.
Highlights of the special edition are front and rear bumper garnish, headlight garnish, mudflap, hood emblem, body cladding, fender garnish, rear door lid garnish and chrome door handle. The cabin also gets all-weather 3D floormats, footwell lamp and a digital video recorder (dash camera).
The powertrains remain untouched. The mild-hybrid powertrain gets a 1.5L NA petrol engine that’s mated to a 48V system, producing 103 PS and 137 Nm. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions are on sale. The gearbox options include a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
The strong hybrid powertrain, on the other hand, has a 1.5L 3-cylinder petrol engine running Atkinson cycle and mated to a small capacity battery pack, and eCVT automatic transmission. It produces 116 PS and comes only with FWD. The CNG powertrain produces 88 PS and 121.5 Nm and comes with a manual transmission alone.
