When it comes to changing the appearance of your car and protecting it in the same process, there is nothing better than paint protection film (PPF). Recently, an owner of a brand-new Tata Harrier facelift shared the transformation of his standard Harrier facelift Dark Edition’s conversion into a mean-looking machine. This particular Harrier has been given a matte PPF and light black window tints. The combined result of this has resulted in a unique-looking vehicle.
The pictures and a short video of this particular Tata Harrier facelift have been shared on Facebook by its owner, Srinivas Pathi, on the Tata Harrier Club India page. The short video shows the walkaround of this newly wrapped Harrier facelift. It can be noted that all the gloss black painted body panels of the Harrier facelift Dark Edition have been given the matte black PPF. This addition makes the car look extremely sleek and menacing. Apart from this, the car has also been given black window tints which add to the all-black appearance of this SUV.
Cost of Paint Protection Film (PPF)
Getting a car wrapped in paint protection film is not a cheap endeavor. It is very costly, and some people do not see the value in it. According to the owner of this particular Harrier facelift Dark Edition, the total cost of the application of matte PPF and window tints came out to Rs 1.6 lakh. For those who may not be aware, the cost of PPF depends upon the size of the vehicle. The bigger the vehicle, the more is the cost. Generally, PPF costs range from Rs 20,000 to Rs 1,90,000.
Is it Legal?
There are two types of paint protection films. First is a clear paint protection film, which even after installation does not alter the appearance of the car as it’s a transparent film. However, the other type of PPF is the matte PPF which has been done on this Harrier. The application of matte PPF alters the appearance of the vehicle after application as it adds a matte appearance. Now, technically, it is illegal to alter the appearance or color of a car. However, in most cases, the police authorities generally do not investigate after the application of matte PPF.
