The Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has been a strong advocate for alternative-fueled vehicles in India. For this reason, he has been promoting electric and hybrid cars in the country. Recently, the MoRTH minister was seen attending an event organized by an MG Motors dealership in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where Nitin Gadkari belongs. The minister was invited to check out the all-new MG Windsor EV CUV.

The post has been shared with a caption stating, “Nangia family showcased the new Windsor EV to Shri Nitin Gadkariji. Known for supporting EVs and alternate fuels, Nitinji extended his blessings and wishes to the latest entrant in the MG array of vehicles.”

In the images, Nitin Gadkari was seen posing with the MG Windsor EV. He was welcomed by the Nangia family, which owns the MG Motors dealership in Nagpur. The Windsor EV showcased at the event was finished in a shade of Turquoise Green. Apart from this, the company also offers this EV in three more colors.

The all-new Windsor EV has been launched in India with a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh. The catch with this price is that it does not include the battery. MG is offering a new “Battery as a Service” program. Under this, the owners will have to pay Rs 3.5 per km.

MG has announced that the first owner of the Windsor EV will get a lifetime free warranty on its battery pack. Additionally, the first owner will also get one year of free charging at public chargers. The company has added that there is also an assured buyback of 60% after 3 years / 45,000 km.

Apart from this, for buyers who wish to buy the Windsor EV with the battery pack, the pricing starts at Rs 13.50 lakh for the base Excite variant. Then there are the Exclusive and the Essence variants, which have been priced at Rs 14.50 and Rs 15.50 lakh, respectively.

As for the design, the Windsor EV features the brand’s AeroGlide Design language. It boasts a very modern and futuristic design with all-LED headlights and connected LED DRLs. It also gets a closed-off grille and an illuminated front MG logo. It also gets 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and flush door handles.

On the inside, the Windsor EV features a minimalistic dashboard layout. The center is dominated by a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and it also gets an 8-inch digital instrument gauge cluster as well.

Apart from these, it also gets first-in-segment aero-lounge seats that recline up to 135° for maximum comfort. Other highlights include an infinity-view glass roof, a 9-speaker Infinity audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and first-in-segment 256-color ambient lighting.

The Windsor EV also gets a wireless charger, ventilated front-row seats, a multi-function steering wheel with mounted controls, and a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat.

As for the EV power plant, the Windsor EV comes equipped with a 38 kWh battery pack. It generates a maximum power of 136 bhp and 200 Nm of torque from its front-axle-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor. As per MG, the claimed range is 331 km per charge.
