Hyundai launched the current version of their most popular mid-size SUV, the Creta, in the market this year. They also launched the heavily updated Alcazar SUV a few weeks ago. The next big thing from Hyundai is the electric version of the Creta. We know that Hyundai has been working on this electric SUV for quite some time, and it has been spotted testing on several occasions. We now have a new set of images that reveal new details about the interior of the upcoming Creta EV.
The images have been shared by Rushlane on their website. In the newly leaked images, we see the Hyundai Creta EV’s dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and a glimpse of the seat. Let’s start with the steering first. The design of the steering wheel is different from the one in the ICE version. The Creta EV gets a three-spoke steering wheel, and there are paddle shifters behind the steering, which probably control the regen.
Unlike the regular Creta, it doesn’t get a flat-bottom steering wheel, and Hyundai’s logo is missing on the horn pad. Instead, the SUV features four dots on the horn pad, which is similar to other electric vehicles in Hyundai’s lineup. The basic design or layout of the interior and cabin looks similar to the ICE version.
We see the curvilinear infotainment system and fully digital display, with control switches for the AC and other features below it. The auto-dimming IRVM is also visible in the pictures. As for the center console, it has a floating-type design. Since this is an electric car, there is no physical gear lever.
The space where the gear lever is usually found has been converted into storage space. We are unsure if this is the final iteration or if there will be more changes before the SUV hits the production line. The center console includes switches for seat ventilation, auto hold, electric parking brake, and driving modes. The gear selector stalk might be behind the steering wheel on the right side.
Another new detail visible in the pictures is the seat. While the cabin retains a grey and black dual-tone shade, the leatherette upholstery comes with Creta Electric badging. It is unclear if this will be the name of the production version as well.
The electric SUV will feature a similar design to the current facelifted version, with EV-specific cosmetic changes like a closed grille and other adjustments to differentiate it from the petrol and diesel versions.
Like the ICE version, we expect the Creta Electric (or EV) to be loaded with premium features, including ADAS, which the recently revealed Curvv EV also offers. At the moment, there is no confirmation about the battery pack and electric motor in the Creta EV. However, we expect Hyundai to equip it with a driving range of at least 450 km.
Hyundai might offer a 45 kWh battery pack with the EV, and the motor could generate 138 PS and 255 Nm of peak torque. Hyundai has been testing the Creta EV extensively, and it is expected to launch in the market in the first half of 2025.
