Volkswagen Virtus And Taigun Get Upto 2.5 Lakh Rupee Discount In May 2025
Volkswagen India is said to be offering discounts on their popular models, Virtus and Taigun, in the month of May. If you have been planning to buy a Volkswagen car this month, you might be in luck, as the manufacturer is offering a maximum discount of up to Rs 2.5 lakh on select variants of the Taigun and Virtus.
As per reports, Volkswagen is offering a scrappage benefit of Rs 20,000 on the base 1.0 TSI variants of both Virtus and Taigun. Apart from this, the entry-level variants of the Virtus and Taigun have also seen a price drop, which brings the starting price to Rs 10.44 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
Virtus
We’ll start with the Virtus sedan first. The 1.0 TSI AT GT Line version of the mid-size sedan is available with discounts of up to Rs 80,000 along with a scrappage benefit of up to Rs 20,000. The GT Plus Chrome version of the Virtus, which comes with a 1.5-litre TSI engine and a DSG transmission, gets discounts worth Rs 1.30 lakh.
The GT Plus Sport variant of the Virtus with the 1.5 TSI & DSG attracts benefits or offers worth Rs 1.35 lakh. The Virtus Highline and Topline variants with the 1.0 TSI engine and AT gearbox get benefits worth Rs 1.90 lakh. The Sport and Chrome versions of the Virtus sedan also attract discounts worth Rs 1.35 lakh and Rs 1.90 lakh respectively.
The Volkswagen Virtus is available with two petrol engine options. The first is a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine which generates 115 PS and 178 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with manual and automatic transmissions.
The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine is a 4-cylinder unit that generates 150 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with manual and DSG transmission options.
Taigun
Next is the mid-size SUV. The Taigun Highline 1.0 TSI AT variant gets discounts of up to Rs 1.40 lakh. The GT Line with the same engine and transmission option gets a discount of up to Rs 1.45 lakh.
The GT Plus Sport variant, which comes with a 1.5-litre TSI engine paired with a DSG transmission, gets discounts of up to Rs 2 lakh. The Topline 1.0-litre TSI Manual version attracts discounts of up to Rs 2.35 lakh. The GT Plus Chrome gets discounts of up to Rs 2.5 lakh. The Sport variant also gets discounts of up to Rs 2 lakh.

The SUV is available with the same set of petrol engine options as the Virtus. The engine generates the same power and torque figures as in the sedan. The Taigun competes with cars like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Toyota Hyryder in the segment.
