Chevrolet showcased the facelifted Cruze at the 2012 Busan Auto Show. The facelifted Cruze is expected to hit the Indian market within the next couple of months.
The new Cruze gets a redesigned grille and refreshed fog lamps. The shape of the headlamp in the face lift version is identical to the current model. On the inside, expect a bit more headroom for rear seat passengers. Apart from the cosmetic changes, the rest of the car will largely remain unchanged.
The new Cruze will be powered by GM’s Z series, 2.0 litre, DOHC, common-rail diesel motor that puts out 163 Bhp (the present Cruze makes 148 Bhp) of power. Hence, we can expect the facelift version to accelerate slightly better and also reach three digit speeds with more ease than the present Cruze. There may be mild changes in the fuel efficiency. At present, the Cruze is offered in the range of Rs. 12 lakh – 14.4 lakh and the face lift version will likely claim a slight premium over the current model owing to the cosmetic makeover. The Cruze is one of the best selling cars in Chevrolet’s line up apart from the Beat and the Tavera. The facelift may give the Cruze some sales boost in the near future.
