General Motors (GM) India has hiked the price of its Spark, Beat, Cruze and Tavera models with effect from January 16th.
The price hike ranges between 0.5 per cent to 1.75 per cent depending on the model and variant.
Chevrolet’s volume drivers include the Beat and the Spark in the small car segment, Tavera in the MPV segment and the Cruze in the sedan segment. The company has thus, hiked the price of these cars. Models such as the Aveo, Aveo U-VA and Optra which sell in miniscule numbers have been spared a hike. The Captiva will also not see a price hike as the face-lifted Captiva will be launched soon.
Yesterday, we reported that Maruti Suzuki has hiked prices of its cars. Now, GM India too has hiked prices and we can expect other car makers to follow suit soon. The following table shows the estimated price hike on Chevrolet cars based on dealer feedback.
