Chevrolet Spark and Beat petrol get discounts of up to Rs. 60,000 and Rs.30,000 respectively!

Chevrolet India has announced their ‘year-end bonanza’ with attractive offers for its Spark and Beat petrol small cars. The Spark gets a discount of up to Rs. 60,000 while the Beat petrol gets a discount of Rs. 30,000 across all variants. The Beat diesel gets no discounts. The offer is for limited period and till stocks last.

Chevrolet Spark and Beat petrol get discounts of up to Rs. 60,000 and Rs.30,000 respectively!

CarToq spoke to a Delhi dealer to know the variant-wise discounts offered on the Spark. According to the dealer, the base variant of Spark gets a cash discount of Rs. 44,000 bringing down its price to Rs. 2.79 lakh from Rs. 3.23 lakh earlier. The mid variant of Spark (1.0 LS) gets a cash discount of Rs. 60,000 while the top-end variant, Spark 1.0 LT gets a cash discount of Rs. 50,000.

The mid variant, Spark 1.0 LS with an offer price of Rs.2.99 lakh gets power steering, AC, front power windows and tinted glass. These features are available in the Hyundai Santro GL variant priced at Rs. 3.47 lakh (Rs. 48,000 more than the Spark 1.0 LS) and the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 VXI priced at Rs. 3.17 lakh (Rs. 18,000 more than the Spark 1.0 LS).

Similarly, the Spark 1.0 LT with an offer price of Rs. 3.31 lakh has all the features of the Spark 1.0 LS and in addition gets rear power windows, central locking and music system with four speakers. These features are available in the Hyundai Santro GLS variant priced at Rs. 3.69 lakh (Rs. 38,000 more than Spark 1.0 LT). Features such as rear power windows and music system with four speakers are not available in the Alto K10 VXI priced at Rs. 3.17 lakh (Rs. 14,000 less than Spark 1.0 LT).

Overall, features-wise, the offer price makes the Chevrolet Spark, an attractive buy than the Hyundai Santro and slightly better buy than the Alto VXI.

Chevrolet Beat

Chevrolet Spark and Beat petrol get discounts of up to Rs. 60,000 and Rs.30,000 respectively!

Chevrolet offers a cash discount ranging between Rs. 19,000 – 30,000 on the Beat petrol variants. The Beat 1.2 (base variant) gets a cash discount of Rs. 19,000 which brings down its price to Rs. 3.40 lakh from Rs. 3.59 lakh earlier. The Beat 1.2 LS and the Beat 1.2 LT gets a cash discount of Rs. 30,000 that brings down its price to Rs. 3.57 lakh and Rs. 4 lakh respectively.

The Beat base variant, with an offer price of Rs. 3.40 lakh comes with power steering and AC. These features are available in the Maruti Ritz LXI priced at Rs.4.03 lakh (Rs. 63,000 more than Beat 1.2) and the Ford Figo LXI Rs.3.70 lakh (Rs. 30,000 more than Beat 1.2).

The Beat 1.2 LS variant with an offer price of Rs. 3.57 lakh has front power windows, central locking and rear parcel shelf. These features are available in the Ritz VXI priced at Rs. 4.38 lakh (Rs. 81,000 more than Beat 1.2 LS). However, the Ritz VXI also has rear power windows, engine immobilizer, seat belt and door ajar warning, remote trunk opener and 12 V accessory socket. The features available in the Beat 1.2 LS are also available in the Figo EXI priced at Rs. 4.07 lakh (Rs. 50,000 more than Beat 1.2 LS) but it comes with features such as engine immobilizer and keyless entry. Hence, the Beat 1.2 LS variant is significantly lower priced than the rivals but lacks features.

The Beat 1.2 LT variant with an offer price of Rs. 4 lakh has music system and front fog lamps. The Beat 1.2 LT (O) with an offer price of Rs. 4.48 lakh has option pack which includes dual front airbags, ABS and alloy wheels. These features are available in the Maruti Ritz ZXI priced at Rs. 5 lakh (Rs. 52,000 more than Beat 1.2 LT (O) and the Figo 1.2 Titanium priced at Rs. 4.82 lakh (Rs. 34,000 more than Beat 1.2 LT(O)). The Figo Titanium has Bluetooth connectivity but lacks alloy wheels.

Summing up, the Beat 1.2 LT (O) is a ‘better value for money’ as against the Ritz ZXI and the Figo 1.2 Titanium.
