Citroen C3 Aircross
As mentioned previously, the Citroen C3 Aircross has become the most affordable compact SUV in the segment, beating the previous most affordable model, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. In terms of exterior design, the Citroen C3 Aircross continues to boast the same design language as its siblings, the C3 hatchback, and the C5 Aircross.
The model on the front features the brand’s Chevron logo integrated into the front chrome grille. The C3 Aircross misses out on LED headlamps and uses a conventional halogen setup for the front light. However, it does feature daytime running LED strips, as seen in the C3 hatchback. The SUV also comes with old pull-type door handles and LED tail lamps connected by a black strip across the boot lid.
C3 Aircross Interior
Moving on to the inside of the new Citroen C3 Aircross, it comes equipped with features such as a 10-inch (26cm) touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also gets a new 7-inch (17.8 cm) color TFT cluster screen with up to 6 modes for displaying vehicle information, as well as options to monitor trip computer, fuel consumption, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System to aid eco-driving.
Powertrain
Currently, the only engine option offered with the Citroen C3 Aircross compact SUV is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This is the same engine that powers its hatchback sibling, C3. This engine, which at the moment is only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox, delivers a maximum power of 110 PS and 190 Nm of torque.
Citroen C3 Aircross Automatic on the Horizon
Just a few weeks ago, it was reported that the company could be soon also launching the Citroen C3 Aircross with an automatic transmission. It was reported that during its Indonesian market launch, the same car received a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard. It was then reported that the company would most likely be offering the same 6-speed automatic transmission in India as well. Prior to this, a while ago, the company gave a reason for not launching the C3 Aircross with an automatic transmission. The company at the time stated that it could not source an automatic transmission supplier in time.
