The manufacturer is promoting the SUV with “The Comfort Class” because they have worked extensively to make the C5 AirCross as comfortable as possible.
The C5 looks different from every other SUV that is in the Indian market. It is not muscular like other SUVs but it still stands out of the crowd and has its own road presence. The front gets a split headlamp setup where the LED Daytime Running Lamp strip is placed above that integrates with the Citroen’s logo. The headlamp sits below and integrates with the front grille. The lower variant i.e. the Feel variant comes with a halogen setup whereas the top-end Shine variant comes with LED projector headlamps.
What you will notice are the two rectangular elements that sit in the lower half of the bumper. The front fog lamps are also placed to the side of these elements and they also come with a cornering function. The tail lamps also use LEDs and also get a fog lamp.
There are loads of equipment on offer as standard. It comes with a push-button to start/stop, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, engine start/stop, electric adjustment for driver seat and lumbar support. There is also an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment system comes connected to 6 speakers on both variants. There is also a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on offer that shows various information to the driver.
The C5 AirCross also comes with a park assist feature that can assist you in bay parking and parallel parking. The driver would only have to provide inputs for the throttle and brake and the C5 can steer itself into the parking place.
The highlight of the C5 AirCross is its NVH or Noise Vibration and Harshness levels. The acoustic windshield and double laminated front windows ensure to cut out exterior noises. The insulation for the engine has also been doubled to ensure that diesel clatter remains minimum and does not enter the cabin.
Yes, the Citroen C5 AirCross is only a diesel vehicle. It is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel to be precise and generates 177 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 400 Nm. It will be offered only with an 8-speed automatic transmission that will drive the front wheels only. You also get paddle shifters behind the steering to take manual control of the gearbox.
The engine delivers its power in a very linear fashion. You would need to push down the accelerator to feel that healthy 400 Nm of torque that comes in the mid-range. The SUV is also quite fuel-efficient for its size. Citroen is claiming a fuel efficiency figure of 18.6 kmpl as per ARAI.
