Citroen launched their first SUV, the C5 AirCross in the Indian market earlier this month. Now, the French manufacturer has started deliveries of C5 through their La Maison Citroen showrooms. The SUV is available in three variants and is currently a CKD or completely knocked down unit. Due to which is priced on a higher side. Citroen C5 AirCross starts at Rs. Rs. 29.90 lakh ex-showroom. The manufacturer has already received 1,000 bookings for their flagship SUV.
The base variant which is called “Feel” is priced at Rs. 29.90 lakhs ex-showroom. Then there is the dual-tone paint-scheme version of the Feel variant which is priced at Rs. 30.40 lakhs ex-showroom. The top-of-the-line variant is called “Shine” and is priced at Rs. 31.90 lakhs ex-showroom. The Citroen C5 AirCross competes against the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson.
The French manufacturer also launched a subscription plan known as ‘Citroën Future Sure’. In this plan, the buyer can buy the C5 AirCross by paying Rs. 49,999 monthly. The highlight of the package is that it includes other benefits like on-road financing for up to 5 years, extended warranty, routine maintenance and roadside assistance.

The C5 AirCross is being assembled at the Citroens plant in Thiruvallur, near Chennai. The manufacturer offers the SUV in four colour options namely, Pearl White, Tijuca Blue, Cumulus Grey & Perla Nera Black. There is only one engine and transmission option available with the C5.
It is a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 177 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 400 Nm. The engine is offered with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel. The C5 AirCross is offered only as a front-wheel-drive vehicle.
There is a lot of features on offer with the C5 AirCross. There is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is also a park-assist feature that enables the C5 to park itself. The only input it requires from the driver is the throttle and brake. You also get a panoramic sunroof, electric tailgate, dual-zone climate control, electrical adjustment for the driver seat, three individual seats for the rear occupants, LED projector headlamps, keyless entry, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers, cruise control and a lot more.
