Maruti Baleno RS
The Baleno has proved to be a successful product for Maruti in India. The car was launched last year but still there is a long waiting period on the vehicle. Maruti announced the arrival of the Baleno RS, the first hot hatch from the brand during the Auto Expo last year.
The Baleno RS will be launched next month and will be the first Maruti car that will be powered by a turbocharged petrol engine. The 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder unit of the car will produce a maximum power of 108 BHP and 170 Nm of torque. The will also get stiffer and lower suspensions that will improve the handling of the vehicle.
Tata Xenon Yodha
The Xenon Yodha will be the first car to be launch in 2017. The car is already being tested in India but the details are unclear. The Xenon Yodha could be a variant addition to the current portfolio of the Xenon or it can be a facelift model of the current version.
Thew Xenon Yodha will get new bumpers, revised grille, reshaped fog lamps, and newly designed alloy wheels. The car will be powered by 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that develops a maximum of 96.5 BHP and 223 Nm of torque.
Tata Kite 5
After the immense success of the Tata Tiago, the Indian manufacturer is all set to launch the sedan version of the car in India. Codenamed as Kite 5, Tata showcased the car during the Auto Expo last year. The sedan based on the Tiago will be Tata’s sub 4-metre sedan in the market after the Zest.
The sedan version will be powered by the similar engine options like the Tiago. There will be a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and 1.05-litre 3-cylinder turbo diesel engine. Both the engine options will get a manual as well as AMT option. When launched, the Tiago sedan will be the cheapest sedan in India.
Hyundai Grand i10
The facelift Grand i10 was unveiled in the international markets last year. In India, the hatchback should arrive in January itself. The Grand i10 takes on the Maruti Swift and Hyundai will take advantage by launching the new car before the Swift, which is scheduled to happen in mid-2017.
The facelift model showcased at the Paris Motor Show gets many design updates like the all-new grille, LED DRLs, updated fog lamps and more. The car will be continued to be powered by the 1.2 litre, 4-cyinder petrol engine that generates a maximum of 82 BHP at 6,000 rpm and 1.1 litre diesel engine that produces a maximum of 70 BHP at 4,000 rpm. The diesel engine only comes with a 5-speed manual transmission while there is an option of both manual and automatic transmissions with the petrol engine.
The new Chevrolet Beat has been pending for quite a time now. The company has been testing the car extensively in India and soon, the facelift version will be launched. The new Beat gets a new set of headlamps, new grille, new bumper and new fog lamp housings. The new Beat looks much sharper now.
At the rear, the new Beat gets a revised bumper, and tail lamp cluster. There will be an all-new dashboard, which will get a touch-sensitive screen and probably Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in addition to Chevrolet’s MyLink2 system.
