Maruti offers the safety kit on all Nexa models, as we mentioned previously. Thus the Baleno by default gets the safety features as standard. Pricing for the Baleno starts at Rs 5.28 lakhs.
Nissan Micra Active
The Micra Active was introduced as a lower end version of the Micra for those who wanted the space and the practicality the Micra offers, but didn’t want to shell out money for other features. The Active is powered by a 1.2 liter petrol engine making 67 Bhp and 104 Nm. The top of the line XV Safety pack trim comes with the safety kit and is priced at Rs 5.39 lakhs.
Maruti Swift Dzire
Like the Swift, the Dzire too offers the same safety features on the (O) trim and prices start at Rs 5.51 lakhs. Since the 2017 Dzire is going to be the next big launch from Maruti, it will be interesting to see if Maruti offers all safety features as standard across the range when the new one comes.
Like the Figo, the Aspire is well loaded when it comes to safety. It was the first and is the only compact sedan on sale in the country today to offer 6 airbags as standard. Pricing for the Aspire with the kit starts at Rs 5.52 lakhs
Toyota Etios Liva
Toyota became one of the first manufacturers in India to standardise dual airbags, ABS and EBD across their range of products in the country. The Liva is their cheapest offering and hence makes it to this list. Pricing for the Liva starts at Rs 5.64 lakhs.
Safety rules and regulations
With the coming of the crash test norms this year, dual airbags will be made standard for all new models and existing cars will have to undergo crash tests as well by 2020. ABS will be made standard from 2018 and existing cars will have to have it by 2019.
