Here are five more affordable cars that will come with automatic transmissions in 2017.

Ford EcoSport facelift

The craze of compact SUVs in India started after the launch of Ford EcoSport. The car has been around for a while now, and the competition has become quite stiff. Ford will launch the facelift of the EcoSport in the coming months. The car receives new grill, headlamps, larger fog lamps, new tail lamp cluster.

The EcoSport also gets new interiors with touchscreen system and Ford Sync 3 module. Under the hood, the EcoSport will retain the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine along with the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine. The EcoSport comes with 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission with the 1.5-litre petrol, and that will continue with the new model.

Hyundai all-new Verna

Hyundai will launch the all-new Verna in August this year. The Verna will get a lot of updates and will follow Hyundai’s new design language. The new sedan will also feature all-new interiors which will be much more premium.

The engine options will remain same as the current ones. There will be 1.4-litre petrol and diesel and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options. Both the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options will come with automatic transmission as an option with the all-new Verna.

Renault Lodgy

Renault Lodgy will soon come with Easy-R AMT. The MPV is based on Duster platform and offers excellent handling. The Lodgy AMT will be similar to the Duster Easy-R system that has been sourced from ZF.

The AMT version of the vehicle will be only available with the 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 108 BHP. The automatic version is expected to be priced at about Rs. 50,000 more than the regular Lodgy and it will be available in two variants.

Renault Duster

Renault currently offers Easy-R AMT with the diesel engine option. The petrol engine option is only offered with a manual transmission. Renault has confirmed that the petrol engine option will soon get CVT automatic gearbox soon.

The Duster petrol is powered by a 1.6-litre K4M engine that generates a maximum of 102 Bhp-148 Nm. Renault will put a new H4K engine that will be launched next month and will be offered with optional CVT.

Mahindra KUV 100

Mahindra’s micro SUV, KUV100 was launched last year. The unique looking vehicle has garnered decent numbers on the sales chart. The KUV 100 is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that develops a maximum of 82 Bhp-115 Nm of torque.

There is a turbocharged 1.2-litre diesel engine too that produces a maximum of 77 Bhp and peak torque of 190 Nm. Mahindra only offers 5-speed manual transmission with both the models but an AMT is expected soon with both the engine options.
