The Alto is cacing a lot of pressure from new entrants like Renault Kwid and Datsun Redi-Go. Maruti announced that the new Alto will be built on an all-new platform. The new Alto from Japan was imported to India last year and the company has been testing the car at Maruti’s R&D centre.
The all-new Alto will look radically different from the current version. Maruti is likely power the new car with the current engine options that are 800cc petrol and a more powerful 1.0-litre K10 petrol. However, a 660 cc, 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine can’t be ruled out.

The facelifted version of the S-Cross was unveiled earlier this year. The car has become slightly larger than the current version. The facelift S-Cross also carries minor changes like the new front grille which now has vertical slats. It looks more muscular than before.
Other changes include new bumpers, new LED daytime running lamps, new air dam design with fog lamp housings. New materials have been used inside the car to make it more premium. The new S-Cross get a new petrol engine, in addition to the current diesel engine options.
Vitara Brezza Turbo

Maruti does not offer the Vitara Brezza with a petrol engine right now. However, the company will launch the car with 1.0-litre BoosterJet petrol engine. The powerful petrol engine will make it attractive for a lot of buyers and will give solid competition to the Ford EcoSport EcoBoost.

Maruti Baleno has been doing well in the market. Maruti showcased the Baleno RS at the AutoExpo 2016 and the car is expected to arrive in the Indian market soon. The car will get a powerful 1.0-litre turbo engine. This will be Maruti’s first ‘hot hatch’.
The 3-cylinder engine will produce 110 BHP of maximum power and 170 Nm of torque. There will be a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Baleno is already a lightweight car, adding a more powerful engine will increase the power-to-weight ratio. The car will be a good challenge to the Abarth Punto and the Polo GT TSI.

The Maruti Eeco is one popular car with the taxi fleet owners. The low running cost of the car and spacious interiors make it the best choice for low-cost taxis. With the stricter Indian rules coming soon, Maruti will work to improve the Eeco and will offer a stronger car with ABS. We may also see few minor updates on the car giving it a fresh look.
