Jeep Compass

Now though, the American brand is developing an all-new SUV for the developing markets, and the car will be made in India. The all-new Jeep Compass will launch in the second half of 2017 and will also become the cheapest Jeep offering in the country till the company launches its sub-compact SUV in India.

Chevrolet Trailblazer

Expected price: Rs. 25 lakh

Chevrolet launched the Trailblazer in India to take on the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour but failed to compete against the giants. The lack of 4X4 system and a huge price tag did not help the car at all. Now Chevrolet is planning to bring the newer model with 2.8-litre Duramax diesel engine that generates 197 BHP of maximum power and will also come with the 4X4 system.

Isuzu MU-X

Expected price: Rs. 24 lakh

After the success of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross in India, the Japanese manufacturer will bring in the MU-X next year. The car will replace the current MU-7 and the car testing has started in India. The new MU-X will be built on the I-GRIP platform and will feature a 4X4 transfer case with a shift-on-fly feature. The car will be powered by 3.0-litre 177 BHP diesel engine and will come with a choice of a manual as well as an automatic transmission.

Mitsubishi Outlander

Expected price: Rs. 28 lakh

The Mitsubishi Outlander will make a comeback in India next year. The all-new Outlander is a 7-seat version and looks very aggressive with a design inspired by the mighty Evo X. The crossover will be powered by 2.4-litre Mivec petrol engine that produces a maximum of 165 BHP and 222 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a CVT transmission. Interestingly, the Outlander will go against the Honda CR-V in India.

Nissan X-Trail

Expected price: Rs. 30 lakh

The X-Trail was showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year. The SUV will be launched next year and will become the first hybrid vehicle in the segment when launched. The SUV is powered by 2.0-litre petrol engine that generates 143 BHP along with an electric motor that generates a maximum power of 183 BHP. The car has been already spotted testing in India, and the launch is likely to happen during the first quarter of 2017.

Skoda Kodiaq

Expected price: Rs. 30 lakh

The first ever 7-seater SUV from Skoda was unveiled earlier this year. The car has been confirmed for the Indian market and will be launched in September next year. The SUV looks brilliant and the design is inspired from Audi’s flagship SUV, the Q7. The Kodiaq will be a luxury offering in the market will be built on the Volkswagen’s MQB platform. The SUV will also come with a long list of features and gizmos.

Volkswagen Tiguan

Expected price: Rs. 30+ lakh

The new Tiguan built on the MQB platform, will arrive in India next year. It will be powered by new generation 2.0-litre diesel engine. The Tiguan will be Volkswagen’s competition against the likes of the Toyota Fortune and Ford Endeavour. Most likely, the SUV will arrive in India as a completely built unit. Due to this, Volkswagen could face a hard time to put a competitive price against the new vehicle’s name.
