Mahindra XUV 500
Mahindra is offering dual airbags as standard across the range of the XUV. On the high-end W8 & W10 variants, it also offers 6 airbags as standard. Pricing for the same starts at Rs 15.63 lakhs.
The Jetta is a robust and solidly built car which has now begun to show its age. However VW offers 6 airbags as standard across the range of the Jetta.
Even the base Trendline variant gets it which is a really good thing for a buyer not wanting a top-of-the line variant, yet wanting safety features. The petrol starts at Rs 14.78 lakhs whereas the diesel starts at Rs 15.95 lakhs.
The Hexa is the latest entrant into the SUV crossover space. Tata previously offered 6 airbags on their flagship vehicle, the Aria and now will offer thes same on the Hexa too. The top of the line XT and XTA variants of the Hexa will be offered with 6 airbags. Prices start at Rs 16.20 lakhs for the same.
Toyota Innova Crysta
The Innova Crysta is among the very few vehicles in the country offering 7 airbags. The additional 7th airbag is the knee airbag. This is available on the top of the line ZX trim, in both petrol and diesel versions. Prices for the top of the petrol one start at Rs 19.88 lakhs.
Hyundai’s latest sedan offering, the Elantra offers 6 airbags on the top of the line SX (O) trim. While this is on offer on both the petrol and diesel versions, it can only be had in the automatic version and not in the manual version. Prices start at Rs 17.99 lakhs for the petrol version.
Skoda offers 4 airbags across the range of the Octavia and offers a total of 8 airbags on the top of the line Style Plus trim. This is on offer on both the petrol and diesel avatars. The petrol one only gets the 8 airbags on the 1.8 TSi trim and prices start at Rs 21.51 lakhs ex showroom.
Hyundai’s comeback kid, the Tucson is also offered with 6 airbags on the GL and GLS variant. The GLS is only on offer on the diesel where as you could get the GL in both petrol and diesel forms. The petrol one is priced at Rs 21.79 lakhs.
