23 year-old drifts Mercedes Benz E400 cabriolet on public Indore road: Cops seize luxury car [Video]

By Ajeesh Kuttan

We have repeatedly stated in our articles that public roads are not suitable for performing stunts. In the past, we have come across several videos and images on social media where people are seen violating traffic rules and risking their lives for the sake of likes on social media platforms. This is not a good trend. Recently, a video surfaced on social media platforms showing a Mercedes-Benz E400 Cabriolet performing stunts on a public road in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. The police seized the car after the incident.

The video of the stunt has already been shared on social media platforms. We are sharing a video from the official page of DCP Traffic Indore. The video shows the car performing the stunt at a junction in the city. The car belongs to a 23-year-old from Indore, and we can see the car approaching the junction at night. Although the road was relatively empty, there were still a decent number of vehicles present. It is clear from the video that the stunt was not accidental and was intentional.

After the car reaches the centre of the junction, the driver turns the car and accelerates, attempting to drift. The driver successfully performs the stunt. The driver probably had friends waiting on the side of the road to record the video. In the video, we can see the person recording the video for social media too. This video went viral on the internet, leading to trouble for the car’s owner and driver.

Mercedes drifting on public road

According to a tweet, a person shared the viral video on social media, leading the cops to take action against the offender. After analyzing the video, the police registered a case against the car driver under section 279 (Rash driving on a public road) of IPC. The police also seized the Mercedes-Benz E400 Cabriolet used for performing the stunt. The video shows the car doing stunts in the middle of the intersection. Other cars and bikes on the road are also clearly visible. A Tata Nexon that was driving to the other side of the road stopped after seeing the car drift.

The Mercedes-Benz E400 Cabriolet seen in the video is a rare car on our roads. It is a convertible version of the regular E-Class sedan available in the market. This is the previous generation model and is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine generating 329 Bhp and 480 Nm of peak torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels, which is why the driver managed to drift the car neatly. The last recorded price of this convertible was around Rs 96.5 lakh, ex-showroom.

Performing such dangerous stunts on public roads is illegal. The car seen in the video is extremely powerful, and even a small mistake could have led to an accident. The driver’s chances of losing control of the car and crashing into the divider or any other vehicle were high. By performing such stunts on public roads, the driver was endangering his life and the lives of other road users. If you really want to perform such stunts, it is better to look for private properties, closed roads, or race tracks to avoid inconvenience to others.
