Datsun Go and Go+ Facelifts coming soon to India; Launch timeline REVEALED

The recently revealed facelifts of the Datsun Go hatchback and the Datsun Go+ 7-seat station wagon are reportedly India-bound. These vehicles, which are among the most affordable offerings from Nissan-Datsun in India, were revealed last month. Indonesia is the first market to get the Go and Go+ facelifts. In India, these cars will launch in September, which should help them benefit from the increase in car sales during the festive period.

Both the cars have received a set of styling updates for their exterior and interior. The front end features a new bumper, revised headlamps, LED DRLs, and a new grille. The new grille is wider and makes the car look bolder. The bumper is more stylish and helps this car look sporty. The outside rear view mirrors have received integrated turn indicators. There’s also a body kit on offer, which makes the cars look even sportier. The body kit comprises of front and rear bumper diffusers, side skirts and a large rear spoiler.

On the inside, both the cars come with a touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. The AC vents have been re-designed and even the instrument cluster has been updated. The car gets electric windows on all four doors. The new steering wheel gets a driver’s side airbag but there’s no ABS on offer. In Indonesia, the Go facelift comes with an optional CVT. However, it doesn’t look like the India-spec model would come with this option. That said, the possibility of an optional AMT can’t be ruled out. Both the cars will continue to draw power from the tried and tested HR12DE 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 67 bhp and 104 Nm. The motor comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The Datsun Go hatchback and the Go+ station wagon haven’t been successful in attracting a lot of car buyers. It would be interesting to see if the facelifts would be able to fare any better.
