Datsun has introduced a few new features on the Go hatchback and the Go+ mini MPV in India. Both the vehicles now get Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) along with a new Vivid Blue exterior paint for the hatchback. Moreover, the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity) is now standard fitment on all variants of both the vehicles. The safety kit update also includes anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), brake assist (BA) and traction control system (TCS).
These safety features along with VDC are also now standard across all variants for both the Go hatchback and the Go+ MPV. Until now, the touchscreen infotainment system was only available on the top-spec T and T (O) variants while the lower trims of the Go and Go+ previously did not come with an audio system at all. Both of them are now the first vehicles in their segment to get a touchscreen infotainment system across all variants.
Datsun gave a facelift to both these cars last October and it was at this update that the manufacturer equipped the car with a touchscreen infotainment system. To let you know, the Datsun Go is the most affordable vehicle in the country to have a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Google Play connectivity. The facelift also made the cabin of the car look more attractive. The exteriors received a few tweaks too which made the overall look of the car much more appealing.
Talking about the VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control), it is a system that keeps a tab on various parameters like the steering wheel position, wheel speed and lateral acceleration through onboard sensors in order to provide electronic stability control. This results in improved safety and better manoeuvrability during unfavourable circumstances. Both the Datsun Go hatchback and the Go+ mini MPV are the first vehicle in their price range to get these features.
Talking about the firepower under their hood, both cars are still powered by the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 67 Bhp of power along with 104Nm of torque. This motor is only offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox currently as there is no automatic box on offer right now. The Datsun GO hatchback comes in five variants (D, A, A(O), T and T(O)) and is priced from Rs 3.32 lakh to Rs 5.02 lakh (Both ex-showroom, Delhi). The bigger Datsun GO+ MPV, on the other hand, is available in five variants (D, A, A (O), T and T (O)) and is priced from Rs 3.86 lakh to Rs 5.74 lakh (Both ex-showroom, Delhi). The Datsun Go rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Alto and the Renault Kwid among others in the segment while the Go+ does not have any natural rivals.
