The brand Datsun has just been resurrected after 32 years, and leading that resurrection for developing markets starting with India is this hatchback called the Go. Unveiling the Datsun Go at an event in Gurgaon, Nissan Motor Co. President and CEO Carlos Ghosn said the Datsun Go is likely to be a car that many first-time car buyers, he calls “risers”, will choose and hence it has an attractive price point of under Rs. 4 lakh.
Despite the inexpensive price tag, the car does show a lot of potential as one that can effectively compete with the Maruti Alto, Hyundai Eon and Maruti Wagon-R, all cars in a similar price range that the Datsun Go will be priced in. Compared to these cars, the Datsun Go has some distinct advantages in terms of space and engine specifications. Also read: Datsun Go unveiled; will be priced under Rs. 4 lakh
