Datsun redi-Go shares its underpinnings with the Renault Kwid. The redi-Go will use the same 1.0-litre engine that powers the Kwid. Datsun calls the engine Intelligent Spark Automated Technology (iSAT) that offers a higher efficiency of 23 km/l. The power of the redi-Go will remain similar to the Kwid that produces a maximum of 67 Bhp at 5,500 rpm. Visually, the car will remain same as the 0.8-litre version with the addition of a few stickers to differentiate it from the regular redi-GO.

Jerome Saigot, vice president, Datsun India said, “At Datsun, we are constantly striving to challenge the status quo and disrupt conventional thinking about the entry car segment in India. Today’s youth want a car that shows their personality with style, and redi-GO 1.0L is ready to meet their needs with more power and convenience.”

“With the positive customer responses to the redi-GO and redi-GO SPORT, we are delighted to offer the redi-GO version with a more powerful 1.0L engine. The redi-GO 1.0L with the iSAT engine is an ideal package for customers looking for attractive design, power and performance,” he added.

The redi-GO is the best selling product for Datsun with monthly sales of more than 2,000 units per month. The other products like Go and Go+ did not catch much popularity in the market.

Datsun will only launch the redi-GO with a manual transmission at the moment. The company is expected to launch the AMT version by the festive season.
