Datsun Redi-GO 1.0 launched

Datsun has launched the Redi-Go with the 1.0 liter engine in the country today. Pricing starts at Rs 3.57 lakhs ex-showroom pan India and goes all the way to Rs 3.72 lakhs.

The Redi-Go is now powered by a 1.0 liter engine that makes 67 Bhp and 91 Nm. This is the same engine that is on offer on the Kwid as well. While the Kwid has the option of either a manual or an AMT, the Redi-Go will only be offered with a 5-speed manual currently.

The 1.0 liter variant gets updated interiors with new upholstery. The company has also added keyless entry to the car. The front bumper of the Redi-Go has now gotten a black garnish at the bottom and the boot now gets a 1.0 liter badge to differentiate it from the normal model.

The Redi-Go continues to be a practical offering, like it was. The vehicle has a massive 185 mm ground clearance and the main USP of the car is that it is spacious and has been designed in such a way that the driver has minimal blind spots.

For the time being, the Redi-Go is only offered in two variants currently. The variant is offered with keyless entry, front power windows, driver’s side airbag and a music system which doesn’t have bluetooth. The company will be getting a second variant later.

The vehicle competes with Maruti Alto K10, the Kwid 1.0 and the Hyundai Eon 1.0. In terms of pricing, the Alto K10 which can be had with a base model is priced at Rs 3.26 lakhs and the top spec K10 is priced at Rs 3.79 lakhs. The Kwid on the other hand starts at Rs 3.49 lakhs and goes all the way to Rs 3.96 lakhs for the manual model. The Eon on the other hand is priced between Rs 4.2 lakhs to Rs 4.53 lakhs, making it the most expensive vehicle in the segment.
