Datsun Redi-GO launched; Prices start from 2.39 lakhs

Datsun’s least priced car is go, and it’s called the Redi-GO. A budget hatchback built on the CMF-A platform that it shares with the Kwid, the new Datsun undercuts its French cousin. Prices start at 2.39 lakh rupees, ex-showroom Delhi, and go all the way up to 3.34 lakh rupees (The Kwid is priced between 2.62 and 3.67 lakhs). The Redi-GO is available in 5 variants: D, A, T, T (O) and S.

Variant-wise prices: D: 2.39 lakhs, A: 2.83 lakhs, T: 3.09 lakhs, T(O):3.19 lakhs and S: 3.34 lakhs.

The new, tall-boy hatchback is powered by a 3 cylinder petrol engine displacing 800 cc, and that makes 54 Bhp-72 Nm. A 5 speed manual gearbox drives the front wheels of the car. Datsun claims a 0-100 Kph timing of 15.98 seconds for the Redi-GO, which is pretty quick while the ARAI certified mileage figure stands at 25.17 Kmpl.

The Redi-GO is smaller than the Kwid with length, breadth, height and wheelbase standing at 3,429 mm, 1,560 mm, 1,541 mm, and 2,348 mm respectively. In comparison, the Kwid measures 3,679 mm long, 1,579 mm wide, 1,478 mm tall, and gets a 2,422 mm wheelbase.

While the Kwid gets a 300 liter boot, the Redi-GO manages with a a 222 liter boot. Ground clearance on the Redi-GOis higher though, at 185 mm, to the Kwid’s 180 mm. The top-end S variant of the Datsun gets a power steering, air conditioning, front power windows, stereo, a driver airbag and LED daytime running lights. Datsun offers a 2 year/unlimited Kms warranty on the car, which can be extended to 3 years/unlimited Kms.
