While there have been some aggrieved car owners who have used their cars as garbage-carrying vehicles to malign the image of the manufacturer/dealer, Abhinit Gupta, a Bhopal-based doctor, is using his DC Avanti sportscar to really promote cleanliness in the city. Moreover, he has also challenged celebrities like Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli to continue with this challenge. For the uninitiated, the DC Avanti costs roughly Rs 36 lakh (ex-showroom) and has been designed by Dilip Chhabria.
No, the doctor isn’t trying to spoil the image of the DC Avanti. Instead, he feels that a stylish sportscar pulling a garbage trolley is probably the easiest way to make the citizens aware of the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. Abhinit runs a skin clinic and wants to highlight the importance of cleanliness in the society. He is contributing to PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachta Abhiyaan’ through this unique act. There are even some videos of Abhinit and his car on various online channels. These videos show Abhinit’s yellow DC Avanti towing a trolley full of garbage. As per the dermatologist, “Until we do not think clean, we cannot keep the environment clean. No work is big or small but it is our duty to maintain cleanliness in our surroundings.” He also said that it’s the duty of every responsible citizen to keep the country clean.
The yellow DC Avanti he is using to grab everyone’s attention is actually a gift from Abhinit to his father. His family is also supportive of his campaign and are only glad to let him use the costly car. Abhinit says he gifted the Avanti to his father as he wanted to give him something that can turn heads everywhere it goes.
Now, however, Abhinit feels that pulling a garbage trolley with the bright yellow sports car is a great way to grab even more attention. It will be interesting to see if the aforementioned celebrities would accept the challenge from this Bhopal-based doctor.
