DC Design launches TCA V6 engined sportscar at the 2018 Auto Expo

DC Design has just launched a brand new sportscar called the TCA, at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo. Only 299 units of the mid-engined sportscar will be built, and each one will cost Rs. 39 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. It’ll be built at DC Design’s Talegaon factory at Maharashtra, alongside the Avanti.

The TCA uses a 3.8 liter V6 petrol engine outputting 320 Bhp of peak power and is paired with a 6 speed automatic gearbox. Like all true sportscars, the TCA uses a rear wheel drive layout. The car sits lower than the Avanti, and is larger and wider. Deliveries will begin from October this year and bookings are now open. DC Design says that it’s sitting on an order book of 60 cars already.

TCA stands for titanium, carbon and aluminium, elements that’ll be extensively used in the new sportscar’s construction. The car is expected to weigh much lesser than the Avanti despite being longer. It’s likely to have a 4.5 second timing for the 0-100 Kph run, making it an extremely fast car. In fact, the DC TCA will be the fastest car ever, designed, developed and built in India.

Visually, the car is clearly an improvement on the lines of the Avanti, especially at the rear which is much cleaner now. The more ‘mature’ look will make it more attractive to the discerning, perhaps.

The competitive price tag of 39 lakh rupees for the sportscar will ensure that it’s accessible to those who want a genuine sportscar at a fraction of the cost that high-end German and British brands command. The TCA is expected to have a bunch of safety features such as airbags, ABS, ESP and traction control as standard.

DC Design has not yet revealed the exact specifications of the car, including chassis specifications, kerb weight and even ground clearance. In the coming weeks, more information about what the car will pack in, and how it compares with other established sportscars will be revealed. For now though, the car represents another proud moment in Indian automotive history. We can’t wait to see it tearing up roads.
