Toyota launched the Legender variant of the Fortuner this year. It is a more aggressive-looking variant of the Fortuner. Well, here is one Fortuner Legender that has been modified by Perfamana and the pictures are shared on their Instagram account.
There are quite a few subtle modifications done to the vehicle. Due to all this, the stance of the SUV has improved. It gets 20-inch alloy wheels from Vossen. The wheels are wrapped in Goodyear. They measure 285/50/20. The SUV has gone through chrome delete so all the chrome bits from the exterior have been removed. The front lip has been repainted from silver to grey. There is also a door side kit installed and the underbody has been coated also.

The Legender variant already looks quite aggressive than the regular Fortuner. It gets quad-LED headlamps whereas the regular Fortuner gets bi-LED units. The grille is also different as it looks more Lexus like and gets piano black inserts. The bumper overall is also different from the regular Fortuner. The alloy wheels have a dual-tone finish whereas on the Fortuner you get monotone wheels. The rear bumper is also different but the LED tail lamps are the same. The Legender also comes with sequential turn indicators.
The Fortuner is only offered in single tone colours whereas the Legender gets a dual-tone roof. The cabin of both the Fortuners is identical. However, the Fortuner gets an all-black or dual-tone tan brown and black theme. The Legender has a dual-tone black and maroon theme with contrast stitching. The instrument cluster has blue dials on the regular Fortuner whereas the Legender gets black dials.
The Legender also gets more features than the regular Fortuner. It comes with a hands-free tailgate, rear USB charging ports, ambient lighting, wireless charging and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. One feature that the Legender misses out on over the regular Fortuner is the 11 speaker JBL sound system. This is because the JBL sound system is only offered on the 4×4 variant of the Fortuner.
Engine
The Legender is offered only with a 2.8-litre diesel engine. The engine produces 204 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 500 Nm. It is only offered with a 6-speed automatic gearbox that drives the rear wheels only. There is no 4×4 drivetrain on offer and you cannot get the Legender with a petrol engine.
The regular Fortuner is offered with a 2.8-litre diesel engine and a 2.7-litre petrol engine. You can get the diesel engine with a 4×4 drivetrain. The 4×4 system comes with a lockable differential, High 4 and Low 4 modes and downhill assist control. The petrol engine puts out 166 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 245 Nm of peak torque. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Price and competitors
The Fortuner starts at Rs. 30.34 lakhs ex-showroom and the Legender variant costs Rs. 38.30 lakhs ex-showroom. The Fortuner competes against Ford Endeavour, Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace, Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster and Mahindra Alturas G4.
