Deal: Maruti offers big discounts on Alto, Wagon R and 4 other cars in May

Maruti is offering customers some very lucrative offers on petrol models this May. It is offering huge discounts and freebies such as music systems on six of its models, which include the Alto (whose sales have fallen last month), the Wagon R, the Zen Estilo, Maruti Ritz, the A-Star and the SX4 petrol.

Here are the details of the deals being offered by Maruti dealers, valid till May 31, 2012:

Maruti Alto LX and LXi (Rs. 25,000 deal)

–          MGA music system with USB, MP3 player and 2 speakers worth Rs. 8,000 and Gift Cheque worth Rs. 17,000

Maruti Alto K10 LXi (Rs. 30,000 deal)

–          MGA music system with USB, MP3 player and 2 speakers worth Rs. 8,000 and Gift Cheque worth Rs. 22,000

Maruti Alto K10 VXi (Rs. 25,000 deal)

–          MGA music system with USB, MP3 player and 2 speakers worth Rs. 8,000 and Gift Cheque worth Rs. 17,000

Maruti Wagon R LX and LXi (Rs. 30,000 deal)

–          MGA music system with USB, MP3 player and 2 speakers worth Rs. 8,000 and Gift Cheque worth Rs. 22,000

Maruti Wagon R VXi (Rs. 25,000 deal)

–          Gift Cheque worth Rs. 25,000

Maruti Zen Estilo all models (Rs. 35,000 deal)

–          Gift Cheque worth Rs. 35,000

Maruti A-Star all models (Rs. 40,000 deal)

Is this a good deal?

If you look carefully at the offers being made by Maruti dealers, it is an attempt to push sales of their petrol cars. The gift cheque being offered accounts for up to 10% discount on the invoice price of the car. Additional offer of a freebie like a music system worth Rs. 8,000 on some models is also worth it.

However, the same offer is not applicable on any of the diesel models (like the SX4 and the Ritz) as Maruti is facing huge demand for diesel cars anyway.
