The Alto LXI variant is an attractive deal because it comes with AC and power steering at a price of Rs. 2.41 lakh while its rival, the Hyundai Eon Era variant with AC and power steering is priced at Rs. 3.11 lakh which is a whopping Rs. 70,000 more than the Alto LXI.

The Alto K10 VXI variant priced at Rs. 2.77 lakh (price after discount) comes with body side molding, fabric inserts on door trims, parcel tray in rear, central locking, tachometer and front fog lamps. These features are available in the Hyundai Santro GLS variant priced at Rs. 3.48 lakh (Rs. 71,000 more than the Alto K10 VXI) and the Chevrolet Spark 1.0 LS priced at Rs. 3.59 lakh (Rs. 82,000 more than the Alto K10 VXI).

Maruti Suzuki Estilo

Maruti Suzuki Estilo has the highest discount value of Rs. 51,000 coming through Rs. 15,000 exchange bonus and Rs. 36,000 cash discount. This total discount has brought down the prices of Estilo to Rs.2.76 lakh from Rs.3.27 lakh earlier.

The Estilo top-end variant (VXI with ABS) priced at Rs.3.63 lakh is the attractive deal for it is cheaper than its sibling the Wagon R VXI with ABS by Rs.18,000 and cheaper than its rivals such as Hyundai Santro GLS (Rs.3.70 lakh) by Rs.7,000 and the Chevrolet Spark top-end variant (Rs.3.81 lakh) by Rs. 18,000. But the catch is, the Santro GLS and Spark top-end variant 1.0 LT doesn’t come with ABS.

Maruti Suzuki A-Star

The A-Star gets a total discount value of Rs. 46,000 in the form of Rs. 15,000 exchange bonus and Rs. 31,000 cash discount. The discount offered for A-Star has decreased its starting price to Rs.3.13 lakh from Rs.3.59 lakh. The A-Star ZXI price is higher than its rivals such as the Hyundai Santro GLS (Rs.3.70 lakh) by Rs. 7,000 and lower than the Chevrolet Spark 1.0 LT (Rs. 3.80 lakh) by Rs. 3,000. However, the A-Star is loaded with Dual front airbags and ABS with EBD, not offered in its rivals. Hence, the A-Start top-end variant is an attractive deal.

maruti suzuki ritz photo

Maruti Suzuki Ritz

The Ritz gets discounts on both petrol and diesel engine variants. The Ritz petrol gets a total discount of Rs. 29,500 via Rs. 15,000 exchange bonus and Rs. 14,500 cash discount. The Ritz is now available at a starting price of Rs. 3.73 lakh (earlier it was Rs.4.03 lakh). The Ritz VXI gets central locking, front fog lamps and is priced at Rs. 4.09 lakh.

The Ritz VXI is only slightly expensive than the Ford Figo EXI (Rs. 4.06 lakh) but the mid variant of Chevrolet Beat petrol 1.0 LS priced at Rs. 3.83 lakh is cheaper than the Ritz VXI but doesn’t get fog lamps. Hence, when compared with the Figo EXI and considering factors like the maintenance costs and resale value of Maruti Suzuki, the Ritz VXI is slightly a better value for money than the Figo EXI.

Coming to the diesel variants, the Ritz diesel gets Rs. 15,000 cash discount bringing its starting price down to Rs. 4.79lakh from Rs.4.94 lakh. The Ritz diesel is costlier than its rivals, the base variant of Ford Figo diesel (Rs.4.59 lakh) by Rs.20, 000 and the base variant of Chevrolet Beat diesel (Rs.4.29 lakh) by Rs. 50,000. Hence, despite the offer, the Ritz diesel still doesn’t offer enough ‘value for money’ as against its competition.
