Punch from Tata Motors is one of the biggest launches of the festive season. We first saw Punch at the Auto Expo 2020 as the HBX Concept. It created a lot of hype around it and people loved the quirky design of the vehicle. The Punch still retains 95 percent of the design elements that we saw on the HBX Concept. It looks like a mini version of the Harrier. The Punch will be competing against the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Hyundai Santro and the Mahindra KUV100. As of now, the engine specs and the pricing is not yet revealed. However, the homegrown manufacturer has started teasing the new micro-SUV and it should get launched sometime during Diwali.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

India’s largest automobile manufacturer launched the first generation of Celerio back in 2014. It did get some minor updates through its lifecycle but it was due for a new generation as the design just started looking old. The next generation of Celerio is all new. It is more angular and drops the tall boy design that many Maruti Suzuki vehicles have used. Some of the design elements seem like they are borrowed from the Swift. It is expected to come with a 1.0-litre petrol engine, 1.2-litre petrol engine and a factory-fitted CNG kit. The Celerio was spotted without camouflage during a TVC shoot. So, we should expect that the Celerio will be launching soon.

MG Astor

MG has been quite successful for a new automobile manufacturer. They already have the Hector, Hector Plus, ZS EV and Gloster in their line-up. They will now be launching the Astor which will be their most affordable SUV. It will be a mid-size SUV that will be going against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun. It will be the first vehicle in the segment to get a personal assistant and Autonomous Level-2 technology. It will come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. It will also have a lot more features just like any other MG SUV. It is expected that MG would offer it with two petrol engine options.

Mahindra XUV700

The XUV700 is the most hyped vehicle of 2021. The SUV has already been revealed and the manufacturer has also announced the prices of some of the 5-seater variants. They will also be offering a 7-seater version of the XUV700. The SUV will be the most powerful and feature-packed SUV in the segment. It will be offered with a diesel as well as a petrol engine. Both engines will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The XUV700 will replace the XUV500 and it will be competing against the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and the Hyundai Alcazar. We do know that the prices will start from just Rs. 12 lakhs ex-showroom.

Tata Tigor and Tiago CNG

Tata is working on factory-fitted CNG versions of the Tiago and Tigor. Many people are now considering alternative fuels because of the increased fuel prices. So, it makes sense for Tata Motors to work on factory-fitted CNG variants of Tigor and Tiago. Both the vehicles were spied at a CNG station in a queue. There will be no cosmetic changes to the vehicles. However, there is a possibility that Tata might give a CNG badging to differentiate between the regular vehicles and CNG equipped vehicles. Tata will be using the existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The power output from the engine will decrease while running on CNG.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Swift and Vitara Brezza CNG
