Drishyam movie director adds MG ZS EV and TVS iQube electric scooter to garage

Electric vehicles are becoming popular in India. Both electric two wheelers and cars have seen a rise in demand in the last one year. Several mainstream and new manufacturers have entered the electric vehicle space to tap its unexplored potential. Malayalam movie director Jeethu Joseph recently added two electric vehicles to his garage. One of them is an MG ZS EV and the other is TVS iQube electric scooter.

Jeethu Joseph is a famous film director in Malayalam movie industry. One of his popular movies is Drishyam. The director shared images of his MG ZS EV and TVS iQube on social media. The picture that he shared on Instagram said, “Going green… For a greater cause. MG ZS EV &TVS i QUBE.” 

Earlier this year, MG launched the 2021 updated version of MG ZS EV in the market earlier this year. MG ZS EV is currently available in two trims. There is Excite and Exclusive trims. Excite is the base while Exclusive is the top-end variant. MG introduced the 2021 version of ZS EV with three updates. The first one was the battery pack. The new Hi-Tech battery used in ZS EV increased the driving range of the SUV from 340 kms to 419 kms. In real world driving conditions, the range would be less that the certified range.

Next update on the was the ground clearance. MG increased the ground clearance on this SUV by 16 mm. It also gets new tyres that are slightly larger than the older version. The Excite variant of ZS EV is price at Rs 20.99 lakh, ex-showroom and Rs 24.18 lakh, ex-showroom. MG ZS EV competes with Hyundai Kona EV and Tata Nexon EV in affordable long range electric SUV segment.

Just like other vehicles from MG in India, ZS EV was also known for its connectivity features. The SUV generates 143 Ps and 353 Nm of peak torque. The SUV can do 0-100 kmph sprint in 8.5 seconds. TVS Motor Company is one of the leading Indian two-wheeler manufacturer. Like many other existing and new manufacturers moving towards electric vehicles, TVS also launched their first electric scooter in the market. TVS iQube is actually available only in selected cities across the country.

TVS iQube is a connected scooter that comes with a long list of features. The scooter uses a 4.4 kWh electric motor which pushes the scooter to a top speed of 78 kmph. The 2.25 kWh lithium-ion battery pack on TVS iQube is fixed and cannot be removed. The electric scooter gets two riding modes. There is Eco and Power. The scooter can do 0-40 kmph in 4.2 seconds.

As per the manufacturer, TVS iQube has a certified range of 75 kms in Eco Mode when fully charged. It takes around 5 hours to charge a fully drained battery to 80 percent. To fully charge the battery, it takes around 7 hours. The scooter offers features like full TFT display that shows various information regarding the electric scooter.
