The biggest engined Multistrada to ever be built by Ducati, the 1260 is powered by a L-Twin, liquid cooled engine that displaces 1,262cc and puts out 158 Bhp at 9,500 rpm and 128 Nm at 7,500 rpm. A six speed manual gearbox is standard, and Ducati even offers a quick shifter that works for both upshifts and downshifts. A 24 month, unlimited Kms warranty is standard on the motorcycle, and service intervals are spaced at 15,000 Kms intervals. The Multistrada 1260 gets a slew of features to justify it’s positioning as a flagship model, and also the steep price tag.

Suspension consists of upside down front forks and a monoshock rear, both fully adjustable for compression and rebound. The upside down front forks are electronic, semi-active units from Sachs and offers 185 mm of travel. There’s a 30-litre fuel tank that gives the motorcycle a solid, 450 kilometer range. The motorcycle has a raft of electronic aids to boost safety and make it more rideable in all conditions. A new 6-axis Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) controls Bosch ABS Cornering, Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL) and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Vehicle Hold Control (VHC) are the various electronic safety aids on the bike. The instrument cluster is a 5’’ TFT colour display that gets Bluetooth. Cruise control is standard.
