Ecosport rivaling Hyundai ix25 compact SUV render emerges

Hyundai has just entered the compact sedan segment with the well-priced Xcent, which comes across as a replacement to Accent. There are no two ways to the fact that the company has been extensively testing a compact crossover with the moniker iX25 going by the innumerable spyshots of the compact SUV hitting the interweb at regular intervals. The latest report surrounding the car showcases a rendering and also reveals a bit of information about its possible launch time frame.

The Car & Driver magazine’s Brazilian edition’s cover page reveals a rendering of the iX25, and the render seems to paint an accurate picture of the actual SUV considering the previous leaks. The magazine has also stated that the EcoSport rivalling Hyundai iZ25 will make its debut at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show in April. The global roll out will begin soon after that. In all likelihood, the iX25 will touch down on Indian shores in 2015.

The iX25 will share its underpinnings with the next generation i20, which is due for a debut later this year at the Paris Motor show. The compact SUV will be loaded to the gills with class leading features like all other Hyundai cars. Previous reports have suggested that the car will get some features in the cosmetic department from its elder sibling, the Santa Fe. If you look closely at the rendering, it looks similar to what CarToq had rendered a while ago.

Globally, the Hyundai iX25 will compete with the likes of Duster, EcoSport, Vezel and a slew of other compact crossovers. Expect the 1.4 liter petrol motor to be offered on the iX25, alongside the 1.4 liter and 1.6 liter turbo diesel engines that is also found on the Verna. Hyundai could launch the iX25 in a lot of variants so as to suit the needs of a wide audience of buyers. The compact crossover market is growing pretty fast in India and globally. Hyundai’s entry into this hot segment could further raise temperatures.
