Hyundai is relentlessly testing the upcoming hatchback codenamed as AH2. There are numerous spy pictures of the vehicle on the run already and now we have received the first video of the vehicle. CarToq reader, Abhishek Kataria has sent us the video that shows the vehicle testing on the NH1 near Karnal.
The car driven at a cruising speed on the highway can be seen with heavy body camouflage. The tall boy design of the vehicle is pretty much evident from the silhouette but the shape is not clear due to the additional faux body panels that it gets. Parts like the tail lamps, headlamps, ORVMs look closer to the production though. Hyundai may show a detailed pre-production version of the vehicle at the Auto Expo 2018.
The interiors of the car can also be seen in the video. There is a big screen which is being used for reading the vital information of the vehicle. The upcoming vehicle is also expected to get a touchscreen-based infotainment system, which is rare in the segment. Hyundai is expected to put a long list of features in the vehicle. The car is expected to get fabric seats and safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
On the outside, the car is expected to get the LED DRLs. The shape of the vehicle has not been revealed, however, we can expect the upcoming hatchback to follow the similar design lines seen on all the modern Hyundai vehicle. The front grille is expected to be trapezoidal with horizontal chrome slats. The headlamps are expected to sleek and elongated.
The details about the engine are also not clear as of now. We may see a 0.8-litre engine and a more 1.0-litre engine powering the vehicle. Hyundai may also offer AMT automatic option due to its rising popularity.
