Exclusive: Hyundai’s compact SUV (Brezza rival) first look render!

Recently, it emerged that Hyundai, the popular South Korea-based car manufacturer, has commenced the testing of its upcoming Maruti Vitara Brezza rival. This SUV has already made its India debut in the form of the Carlino concept that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. The production-spec model will be launched to rival the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. Hyundai Motor India Ltd, which has been dominating the compact SUV segment with the Creta, will launch the Carlino-based sub-4-meter compact SUV to attract the entry-level SUV buyers. Today, we have an exclusive render of the upcoming Hyundai compact SUV by CarToq’s own rendering artist Vipin Vathoopan.

As per the render we have above, the production version of the SUV won’t be anywhere as boxy as the concept that was seen at the Auto Expo 2016. Instead, the production model is likely to borrow several design cues from the Creta. Also, the smaller-than-Creta compact SUV is likely to be styled as per the latest iteration of the company’s fluidic design language. As visualized by our rendering artist after going through the recent spy images, the car will have a cascading-effect front grille. Also, it will likely offer a pair of sleek headlamps that will carry LED fixtures.

Furthermore, the compact SUV will have stylish multi-spoke alloy wheels and plastic cladding all around. The steeply-raking C-pillar and even the tailgate design will remind you of the Creta’s posterior. While we are yet to get a glimpse of the interior, the upcoming Hyundai compact SUV will likely offer a floating-type touchscreen interface for the infotainment unit. Even the cabin panels will take design cues from the Creta and the Grand i10. As has been the case with almost every Hyundai car, the Carlino-based compact SUV will offer a best-in-segment features list.

While the company is yet to reveal the specifications, there are very good chances of this SUV getting the refined 1.2-litre Kappa and 1.4-litre CRDI motors from the Hyundai Elite i20 B2-segment hatchback. Hyundai is expected to start testing this upcoming compact SUV in India very soon. Its launch, however, won’t take place before the end of next year.
