EXCLUSIVE: Indian-spec Kia Seltos engine details, features revealed before launch

Kia Seltos is hours away from getting unveiled in India. This is the first time when the car will be unveiled globally. Before the official unveiling today, we bring you exclusive pictures of the compact SUV, which will be unveiled soon. The pictures that are exclusive and reveals that the Indian-spec version of the Seltos looks identical to the vehicle that was spotted at the event where it will be launched in a few moments.

The all-new Kia Seltos will be launched globally. However, it will be launched in the Indian market in the coming months. The all-new car will take on the likes of Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur when it launches officially.

For the first time, the engine details of the Kia Seltos are out. It will get a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine, naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a diesel engine. Both the engine options will get first-in-segment 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Both the engine options with BS6 engine option. The Seltos will get three different automatic transmission options. There will be an IVT, which is another name for CVT, a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed torque converter. All the engine options will also get the 6-speed manual transmission option. The exact power output of the engines has not been revealed yet.

The Kia Seltos will also offer a long list of features. Safety-wise, the car will a robust structure with the hot stamping body panels, 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, Hill Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Traction Control, Brake Assist and more.

Similar to the Hyundai Venue, the Kia Seltos will also get connected infotainment system that will allow the owners to control the vehicle through smartphone and also allow live tracking of the vehicle and immobilisation remotely. The Seltos will also get a segment-first 360-degree camera with Blind View Monitor and rearview monitor that shows the feed from the camera on the screen while driving.

The all-new Kia Seltos will further get Artificial Intelligence-enabled voice command services that will allow the passengers the features of the car by voice commands. It also gets some high-end features like stolen vehicle tracking and immobilization, auto collision notification, SOS emergency calling, remote engine start-stop, remote-controlled air purification and car air quality monitor and safety alerts.

The Seltos looks quite good, especially the uniquely shaped headlamps that are very sleek in design and get the turn indicators positioned below it. The LED headlamps and vertically mounted LED fog lamps add a very premium look to the car. The all-new Seltos also gets good looking 17-inch alloy wheels and large LED tail lamps. The Seltos will be launched in the coming months but the exact launch time is not known.
