There is good news for all Jeep Compass lovers. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has started dispatching Jeep Compass Limited Plus units to dealerships across India. These stunning units should be in the showrooms in the next 7-10 days but will only be for display currently. We at Cartoq have exclusive information on Jeep Compass’ new range-topping version that will be launched in the upcoming festive season. It will be called the Limited Plus and might be launched on the 19th October 2019, which incidentally is the day when India will celebrate Dussehra.
So what is new in the Jeep Compass Limited Plus? As per our internal source and the images that you see here, this version will get a host of features that will make it the best in segment. As seen in the leaked image, this new version includes a massive sunroof and new 18-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, we are told, a larger and better 8.4 inch touchscreen infotainment system and electrically adjustable front seats will be offered. While the driver seat will get an 8-way adjustment, the co-driver seat will get 4-way power settings.
As per the information available with us, we can also assure you that the Limited Plus will be the safest SUV in the segment with 6 airbags (driver, front passenger, side and curtain) along with rain-sensing wipers, cornering fog lamps, driver aids like ABS with EBD, electronic parking brake, hill start assist, electronic roll mitigation and panic brake assist, among many others.
We can also conclude that this new Limited Plus will be available in both petrol and diesel guises, a huge plus point for a wide variety of buyers. The 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine on the Compass produces 160 Bhp and 250 Nm of torque which is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine cranks out 171 Bhp and 350 Nm of torque and is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox and comes with all-wheel-drive for adventure fantasies.
We expect the new Jeep Compass Limited Plus variants to cost roughly a lakh more than the current top-spec Limited (O) trim level on offer, making it extremely good value for money. For reference, the petrol Limited (O) variant is currently priced at Rs 20.5 lakhs, while the diesel variant costs Rs 21.94 lakhs (both prices ex-showroom).
Jeep India will not stop additions to the Compass family with the Limited Plus only. As per our reliable sources, the company is also set to launch the Backpack edition with a blacked-out exterior and interior theme. Further, the Compass will also get a trail-ready Trailhawk edition, a more off-road ready version of the SUV. Jeep is truly making sure there is a Compass version for every kind of buyer out in the market!
