New 2018 Bajaj Pulsar 150 UG5 Reaches Dealerships - Price, Video, Specs

Facelifted Bajaj Pulsar 150 motorcycle reaches dealerships

The new 2018 Bajaj Pulsar 150 UG5 has been spotted at an authorized Bajaj dealership in Lucknow. The new motorcycle is on sale for Rs 78,400 (ex-showroom, Lucknow). The motorcycle carries a handful of upgrades that make it a slightly more attractive proposition than before. It’s very likely that this is the last significant upgrade for the P150 before an all-new model is out.

The latest facelift gets a lot of bits from the bigger sibling, the Pulsar 180. The new motorcycle gets 37 mm front forks, a split seat setup, split grab rails, matte-black finish for the 17-inch alloy wheels, and even a rear disc brake. Moreover, the motorcycle also gets a new footpeg assembly, matte black finish on the exhaust, new decals, and a wider rear tire. Also, with the advent of the UG5, the Pulsar 150 loses its kick-start option. The engine remains unchanged. Hence, powering the 2018 Bajaj Pulsar 150 is the same 149cc DTSi engine that powered the earlier version. This motor outputs a maximum power of 14 bhp at 8,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 13.4 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The new 2018 Bajaj Pulsar 150 UG5 offers some premium features, like –

  • Semi-digital instrumentation
  • Gas-charged rear shock absorbers
  • Front and Rear disc brakes
  • LED taillamp
  • Backlit switchgear
  • Auto-canceling indicators

It’s highly likely that Bajaj would have launched the new Pulsar just before the April-1 deadline for all new motorcycles to have ABS as standard. It looks like there’s another year left before Bajaj is forced to equip the Pulsar 150 with ABS. It may be noted that all the 125cc & above motorcycles that are sold in India need to have at least a single-channel ABS by April-1, 2019. Also, any new 125cc & above motorcycle that will launch in India will now have to come with ABS, irrespective of the aforementioned deadline. Motorcycles that have below-125cc engines will have to be equipped with CBS.
