Ford India is gearing up to launch a facelifted version of the Figo Aspire compact sedan. The sub-4 meter car will take on the market leader, the Maruti Dzire. Here are speculative renders of the front and rear ends of the India-spec Ford Figo Aspire, showing you what the facelifted car could look like. Interestingly, Ford India has already begun exporting the facelifted Figo Aspire to South Africa. The car that’ll be sold in India is expected to be similarly styled, with the same petrol motor. A diesel motor will be an India-specific addition to the car. Ford is also expected to offer a S-badged Sport variant of the Figo Aspire Facelift.
As for the key design highlights of the facelifted Figo Aspire, the car gets a refreshed front end, replete with a new bumper, chrome inserts for the fog lamp surrounds and a new grille design. Most other bits such as the head lamps and bonnet have been carried over, and the new Figo Aspire gets a revised alloy-wheel design on the sides.
The rear styling changes with the addition of a new bumper. The car’s insides will get a revised dashboard design, with a touchscreen infotainment system popping up from the top of the dashboard. Minor colour scheme changes are also likely on the facelifted Figo Aspire’s insides.
Under the hood, the big change will be the 1.2 litre-3 cylinder Dragon naturally aspirated petrol engine, with outputs of 95 Bhp-120 Nm. This motor will be paired to a new, 5-speed manual gearbox. Ford is also likely to offer an automatic gearbox with this engine in future. The diesel motor will be the tried-and-tested, 1.5-litre TDCI unit with 89 Bhp-205 Nm. The diesel motor will get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The facelifted Ford Figo Aspire will be a lot more powerful than the Maruti Dzire, and is expected to undercut the latter in terms of pricing. We expect the facelifted Figo Aspire to start from Rs. 5.49 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi, making it slightly cheaper than the Dzire, which starts at Rs. 5.56 lakhs.
