Bookings for the facelifted Maruti Ciaz have commenced at NEXA dealerships across India. The car will be launched in the third week of August. Variant details of the facelifted Maruti Ciaz have already been leaked, and the car will be the first C-Segment sedan in India to offer a petrol hybrid option. However, it’ll be a mild hybrid rather than a full hybrid.
The petrol engine in question is a new 1.5-litre K-Series motor with 106 PS of peak power and 138 Nm of peak torque. It’ll be offered with two gearbox options – a 5-speed manual and a -speed torque converted automatic. The mild hybrid system offered on the facelifted Ciaz is the Suzuki Hybrid Vehicle System (SHVS), something that has already been seen on the pre-facelift model’s diesel variants.
The facelifted Maruti Ciaz will continue with the 1.3-litre Fiat Multijet turbocharged unit that puts out 89 Bhp of peak power and 200 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard with the diesel-engined variants. Both the petrol and diesel variants of the facelifted Maruti Ciaz are expected to be the most fuel-efficient cars in the C-Segment sedan space, and this will be a major selling point of the new car.
The new Ciaz will get a bunch of stylistic updates on the outside. The front grille, front and rear bumpers, headlamps, tail lamps and alloy wheels will get revisions. The car will gain features on the inside as well, although the interiors are expected to be similar to the outgoing model. As for new features, the car is expected to pack in hill hold assist and ESP as standard across all variants, along with twin airbags and ABS. In terms of pricing, the facelifted Ciaz is expected to continue being the price warrior in its segment. A starting price well under Rs. 8 lakh is likely for the new sedan.
