Compact SUV segment is one of the most popular segment in India. This segment currently comprises of models like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300. Tata Motors’ Nexon is currently India’s safest car with 5 star Global NCAP crash test ratings. Nexon has been around for a while and is now due for an update as competition in the market is increasing. Tata Motors is working on a facelift for Nexon which is likely to be launched later this year. Here we have a video that shows how the upcoming Tata Nexon will look like and what all changes can we expect to see when it gets launched.
The video has been uploaded by AutoTrend TV on their youtube channel. The upcoming Tata Nexon is most likely to look like the Electric version that was unveiled a few weeks ago. According to video, Tata Motors will be launching the facelifted Tata Nexon on 22 January 2020. Unlike the EV version which will only be available in Teal colour, the normal Nexon will be available in different colour options that is normally gets. The grille on the upcoming Nexon will be completely redesigned and the grille will feature a plain gloss black band with Tata logo in the middle.
According to the video, upcoming Nexon will get projector type headlamps with LED DRLs as standard across the range. The interiors will get the tri-arrow design elemets on the dashboard and seats. However it will only be getting fabric seats instead of leather ones. Overall the layout of the interiors is likely to remain same in the upcoming Nexon.
The steering wheel in the new Nexon is bit different from the current model. It is similar to the one that we have seen in the Altroz premium hatchback. The Nexon will also get features like cruise control, auto wipers, automatic headlamps, semi digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof and an Xpress cool feature that will help to cool down the cabin faster.
It will continue to get the touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with other connected features where one can track the health of location of the car using a mobile app. Safety features like Dual airbags, ABS&EBD, ESP, Traction control, Roll over Mitigation, Hill Hold Assist etc will be standard across the range.
The upcoming Nexon will continue with the same 1.2L petrol engine and 1.5L diesel engine. These engine will be BS6 compliant to meet the upcoming emission norms. With all these updates in place it is quite evident that the Nexon 2020 will be expensive than the current version. But knowing Tata Motors we can expect a competitve pricing in comparison to the competition.
