Facelifted Toyota Innova Crysta: First walkaround video

Toyota recently launched the facelifted Innova Crysta which now gets updated front, some tweaks to the interior too and feature additions. Due to this, the manufacturer increased the price by Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 70,000 depending on the variant you opt for. The Toyota Innova Crysta now starts from Rs. 16.26 lakh ex-showroom and goes all the way up to Rs. 24.33 lakh ex-showroom. There are three variants on offer namely GX, VX and ZX. We have already done a variant guide which you can read by clicking here.

Today we have a detailed walkaround of the new Innova Crysta which is uploaded by PowerOnWheel YouTube channel. The first thing that we can see in the video is the new front. The new grille is finished in piano black and gets more horizontal slats for a more aggressive look. It is surrounded by a chrome border. The LED headlamps are now seamlessly integrated with the grille. The Innova Crysta now also gets LED Daytime Running Lamps while the fog lamps are now placed deep down in the bumper which is also updated. The turn indicators now get their own triangular housing and sit in the bumper.

The only major difference to the side profile is the addition of new 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. There are chrome door handles with request sensors and chrome outside rearview mirrors with integrated turn indicators. The rear does not get any updates. You get the traditional badging and Toyota’s logo.

The interior gets a new upholstery which looks a lot more premium than the pre-facelifted one. You can still get captain seats for the second row. Toyota also offers seatback tables on the higher variants. There are rear AC vents, mood lighting, 12V charging socket, USB port and cupholders for the rear occupants. You get a decent boot space even after having the third row up. The third row still folds sideways and is mounted to the side, unlike other SUVs in which the seats fold down to make a flat floor.

Then comes the biggest change to the cabin which is the introduction of a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is now equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The driver gets electric adjustment for the seat and the steering comes with telescopic adjustment. This helps the driver to get comfortable and find a suitable driving position quite easily. You get a multi-information display in the instrument cluster which shows you various information while driving. There is automatic climate control, cooled glovebox and wooden insert on the dashboard.

There are no changes made to the engines of the Innova Crysta. So it continues to get a 2.7-litre petrol engine and 2.4-litre diesel engine in their BS6 compliant form. The 2.7-litre petrol engine produces 166 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 245 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard or 6-speed automatic transmission with Sequential Shift. The 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine produces 150 PS of max power and 343 Nm of peak torque if you get the 5-speed manual gearbox or 360 Nm of peak torque if you opt for the 6-speed automatic transmission with Sequential Shift.
