While affordable EVs are being offered by manufacturers such as Tata, expensive car manufacturers like Mercedes also have their versions in the market. Some of them have even imported electric vehicles to India. Several notable Indians have also embraced electric vehicles, and they can often be seen on the roads.

Undoubtedly, the Ambanis possess one of the biggest car collections in the country. Among their impressive collection, they own two Tesla electric cars. The first one is a Model S 100D sedan, which is a high-performance version of the regular sedan, powered by multiple electric motors that generate 423 Ps and 660 Nm of peak torque. The second Tesla in their garage is a Model X 100D electric SUV, also a high-performance version with rear falcon-wing doors that facilitate easy entry and exit.

Indian cricket’s former captain, MS Dhoni, has recently acquired the flagship electric vehicle of Korean car manufacturer, Kia, in India. The Kia EV6 was introduced in the market a few months ago with an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 59.95 lakh. The EV6 is offered as a CBU, and it is Dhoni’s first electric car in his garage, which is usually filled with several classic cars and motorcycles.

The Minister for Road Transport and Highways of India was recently seen with a new BMW iX electric SUV. BMW had launched the iX electric SUV in India a year ago at an introductory price of Rs 1.16 crore, ex-showroom. The vehicle is sold as a completely built unit and has a claimed driving range of 425 km on a single charge. The car is provided by BMW India to Gadkari.
