Festive season is here and car manufacturer in India have started preparing themselves for the same. Some manufacturers have updated their existing models while many are coming with all-new products. Festive season offers would also start arriving at the dealership soon. Along with petrol and diesel cars, this time manufacturers are also concentrating on electric vehicles. Here we have a list of five such cars and & SUVs that will be launched in the market this festive season.
BYD Atto 3
Chinese carmaker BYD or Build Your Dreams is preparing to launch their second product into the passenger vehicle segment. The BYD Atto 3 was recently spotted testing in India and is expected to be officially launched in India on 11 October 2022. The BYD Atto 3 is mid size electric SUV. According to various reports that are surfacing online BYD is likely to offer Atto 3 in one variant and two battery pack options. The electric SUV is expected to offer a driving range of 420 km (this may vary depending on the battery pack option). BYD is likely to be priced at a range of Rs 25-30 lakh, ex-showroom price which would make it a direct rival of the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV.
Tiago EV

To strengthen their portfolio in the electric vehicle segment, Tata will be soon coming up with their third electric vehicle for Indian market. Tata Tiago EV has been on the cards for some time and the manufacturer announced on World EV day that they will be launching Tiago EV in the market. Now, the electric hatchback from India’s third largest car manufacturer would be unveiled on 28 September. The Tiago EV is expected to be priced at around Rs 10 lakh, making it the most affordable electric car in the country. The Tiago EV will be offered with features like cruise control and multi-mode regen.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
Maruti brought back the Grand Vitara name in Indian market once again in a new avatar. We drove the car recently in Udaipur and a detailed first drive review of the same is available on our website. It is one of the most anticipated models from Maruti this year and Maruti will be launching the all-new Grand Vitara on 26 September 2022. The SUV will be offered with both mild hybrid and strong hybrid options. It would even get AWD which no other 5-seater mid size SUV in the segment offers. The Grand Vitara will compete with cars like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the segment.
MG Hector Facelift
Last month, MG Motor India released few teaser images hinting their plans to launch a facelift for their popular SUV Hector. The Hector facelift would get number of exterior changes and also an updated cabin along with larger touchscreen infotainment system and many more features. The SUV would still be powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine option. The MG Hector facelift is expected to go on sale during the festive season this year.
Mahindra XUV300 130 Ps turbo petrol
If you remember, Mahindra had showcased a much more powerful petrol version of XUV300 at the 2020 Auto Expo. It was then called Sportz variant and was powered by the same 1.2 litre mStallion petrol engine but in a different state of tune. Mahindra has now finally decided to launch the same in the market this year. The official launch for the updated turbo petrol version is expected to happen in coming days. The 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine will generate 130 Ps and 230 Nm of peak torque. Mahindra might make minor changes like adding the new logo to the car.
