There has been much talk about the Urban Cross since Fiat showcased the car at Auto Expo. The Urban Cross is based on the Punto hatchback and the price starts at Rs. 6.85 lakh for the base model while the Abarth powered model is priced at Rs. 9.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Urban Cross shares an identical look with the concept model that was showcased during the Auto Expo. The car looks similar to the Fiat Avventura and has similar ground clearance of 205mm. The one big change that the Urban Cross possess is the absence of the tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Fiat has now relocated the spare wheel to the conventional location in the boot.
Urban Cross is the third model based on the Fiat Punto hatchback. The car also loses LED DRLs and the 17-inch alloy wheels that are replaced with 16-inch wheels. The Urban Cross comes with side body cladding and to make the car look more aggressive, all the variants come with standard roof rails and roof spoiler.
Fiat Urban Cross is powered by both petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel engine is the regular 1.3-litre multijet engine that also goes under the hood of Fiat Punto Evo. The diesel engine produces a maximum power of 90 BHP. The petrol engine is a more powerful 140 BHP 1.4-litre T-Jet engine that also powers the Avventura powered by Abarth model.
Fiat offers features like Smartech 5.0-inch touch-sensitive infotainment system as a standard across all the variants of the car. The infotainment system gets navigation and Bluetooth as a standard feature.
Fiat is offering the Emotion and Dynamic variants of the car with burgundy coloured premium interiors with color-coordinated door inserts. The door armrests are finished in glossy piano black. Fiat will offer the upgraded interiors for a limited time.
The hatchback will compete with the likes of Cross Polo, i20 Active and Etios Cross in the market and will be available in three variants as mentioned below.
Diesel Active – Rs. 6.85 lakh
Diesel Dynamic – Rs. 7.45 lakh
T-Jet Emotion – Rs. 9.85 lakh
