Here is a quick update: Fiat has launched an automatic transmission version of the popular Linea sedan in India named the Linea Dualogic.
There is not much info available about the Dualogic right now – we will try to update this story in a couple of days with more detailed info such as actual specifications and prices.
We missed the lauanch of the automatic Dualogic at the Auto Expo yesterday due to simultaneous events happening everywhere – and lots of running around.
For the time being, all we know is that Fiat says the automatic transmission in the Dualogic will result in ten per cent than normal auto boxes. Further, they claim it is even better than manual transmissions in fuel efficiency. We will know how true that is when people get to road test the car soon. Be that as it may, we are happy to see more automatic transmission cars being launched in India as t shows that people are willing to take a slight drop in fuel economy for convenience.
We believe specs and features of the Linea automatic will be the same as the top-end Emotion Pack Linea.
The company also launched a petrol variant, the Linea T-Jet which produces 108 bhp – a major improvement on the original petrol Linea. Still, there is a long way to go till it touches the 118 bhp of the Honda City. But considering the good response to the Linea in India, we do not think matching the Honda City is exactly an objective for Fiat!
