The COVID-19 cases are rising yet again in Maharashtra and the authorities have even imposed lockdowns in the neighbourhoods to reduce the spread. Masks are mandatory across India and various authorities have imposed various types of fines for not wearing a mask. Actor Vivek Oberoi had put a video on the Internet on Valentine’s Day showing him riding a Harley Davidson with his wife Priyanka Alva. After the video uploaded by Vivek Oberoi became popular on the Internet, Juhu Police Station registered an FIR against the actor. The video shows Vivek and his wife on the bike at night and both of them were riding on the motorcycle without any helmet or mask. Someone made the video while they were riding through the streets of Mumbai but Vivek Oberoi posted it on the Internet on his official handle.

While the cops have not registered any case for not wearing a helmet, with the rising cases of COVID-19 in Maharashtra, they did take a not of riding without a mask. We are not sure about the actions that the Mumbai Police will take on the actor in the coming days. The FIR registered against the actor books him under various sections of IPC. The actor is booked under sections 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), and 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection or disease dangerous to life). The cops have also booked him under the Maharashtra COVID-19 Precautionary Measures 2020 and Motor Vehicles Act as per the official speaking to Hindustan Times.
Masks remain mandatory in public areas
Masks are mandatory in public places across India. There are separate rules for people driving alone in the car in different states but in most cases, the mask is mandatory even if the person is travelling alone in the vehicle. Masks are also mandatory for the people who are on two-wheelers. The government keeps on changing the rules as per the requirement and spreading the COVID-19 across India. While the authorities are trying their best to ensure that everyone follows the rules and brings down the number of COVID-19 cases even further, there are still many who break the rules.
